I'm No Superman...

I can’t do this all on my own… I’m no Superman...

Watching, Wishing, Waiting...
Each day rises and sets… in its own beautiful way, seize the beauty (The Passing of Time). With each day rising and setting in its own unique way, we should reflect and Thank God. But sometimes we feel confused, anxious, overwhelmed, etc, the list goes on…

When this happens, this is the time we need to stop what we are doing and take five to ten minutes and talk with God. That’s all, just five to ten minutes! (The length of three music videos or funny cat videos on YouTube). You don’t have to fold your hands, kneel before, or go stand in the corner. All you need to do is just talk with him. It can be a soft whisper or a silently in your head, but as long as you take the time to acknowledge, accept, open up, and be willing to give yourself to Him then He is listening and waiting to hear your praise, confessions, wishes, your praise, and take on your troubles/anxiety with you.

“Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” Philippians 4:6

I’m No Superman….
Okay, so this posting really hit home today. I was planning on the next post to be about “Heaven on Earth” Which is already formed in my head, I continually find inspiration in everywhere I look and the most unusual places, faces, and unusual times. So with that, this post needed to get out ASAP.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7

Starting my first semester of my PhD, starting new research, classes, etc, etc… I can easily say that I feel overwhelmed most of the days each week. To the common bystander, I may not give off that overwhelmed/stressed atmosphere that is overloading me. But it is there, loitering in my mind and presence. So today, while talking with a special someone, I was reminded of the best-all time solution, which was to persevere. Not only persevere, but persevere with God at my side.

Persevere: verb \ˌpər-sə-ˈvir\: to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult.

Persevere, that’s a strong word. When I think of it, I think of GOD. God wants us to succeed. However, to succeed, we need to persevere through the good times and bad times. We can only do that by continuing to have Him with us, not only during the bad times = when we need God most, but also during the good times in our life. Through the good and bad times, we need keep Him close, always. (The Peaks & Valleys).

So, if you have read my last two posts – The Peaks & Valleys and The Passing of Time, you may start to see a pattern, which this is something constantly I am going through and will continue to go through. So I encourage you to remind yourself; “Today, isn’t the end of the ride… your Journey is only beginning.” Each day, you will see you can’t do this all on my own, you’re no Superman/Superwoman. Therefore, I encourage you to seek God’s help along the way to relieve your anxiety, stress, fears, overwhelming thoughts and daily struggles. Please continue to constantly seek Him to help you overcome obstacles and remind yourself you are only human. I hope you realize this and turn to God, not only during the bad, but also the good times too.

“Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies” Psalm 36:5

I know can’t do this all on my own, I’m no Superman.

The originally planned post titled: "Heaven on Earth" post will be postponed until next posting.

The Passing of Time

Each day rises and sets… in its own beautiful way

I can see the time drippin' down the clock
We've been trying to hear that ancient refrain
He's the One that knows just when our heads are down
And reminds us of the place from where we came....

Time was, as ever, against me. ~ Matthew Mather.
Time” – ‘Einstein famously said that it was purely an illusion, just a construct of the conscious mind. A nice idea, but try having this conversation with someone who sensed theirs ending. Time was something we all desperately wanted more of when it ran short, yet wasted it frivolously when we thought we had enough.’ ~Matthew Mather

Today is another day, all you need is to focus and live in the moment. Don’t let another one waste away frivolously.
Seize the Day
We fight and struggle against time each and every day. Yet, do we understand why or what for? Each day rises and sets, but what makes it memorable or gives it meaning/purpose? The answer to that question is up to you, are you up for the challenge? The answer lies within you… IT can be answered on how you live each and every day to come, possibly by spreading joy, love, and happiness to everyone you encounter. You need to utilize all the time each day here on earth that God has given to you in the best way you can. I can’t tell you exactly how you to do that, because God has a different path for each of us. However, while you are on your path be sure to open up to love, happiness, and joy and then let it overcome you to spread it like it like fire to all those around you.

Passion & Intensity
Life becomes meaningful for a person when he/she can find the passion and intensity and bring them together each and every day. It can be a passion for anything, but it must be at least for something. Once you find it, provide everlasting intensity and follow it no matter where it goes. So don’t let another day go by wasted for nothing, it’ll be another day you’ll never get back.

This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.-- Psalm 118:24

At the End of Each Day…
Reflect on it and talk with God. He is always
waiting to listen. I want you to think of how and what went right and even what went wrong each day. What you would do the same and what would you do differently? A person who continues to try to improve his/her life and faith each and every day, speaks volumes. As long as you provide the intensity embracing your passion, and positively impact those around you each day, then you’ll be making this world a better place.  No matter how big or small of a difference, it all matters.

From the Blue Ridge to the Black Hills
To the Redwood sky
The season may pass….
But the dream doesn't die.

Each day rises and sets… in its own beautiful way, seize the beauty.

Stayed tuned for next Gatsby Life post continuing on Passion and Intensity: "Heaven on Earth"
- Find your passion, add intensity, and you might just find what heaven really is like…

The Peaks & Valleys

Roller coaster [life]…..favorite ride
Life can feel like one big roller coaster. Along the way you will experience the Peaks (ups) and the Valleys (downs). Regardless if you are currently experiencing a peak or a  valley, you must remember God is with you all the time.

Many times In the past, in both my Alpha group and my Men’s group I have heard the question asked, “Why does God let bad things happen to good people?” My response to this is and will always be: “Maybe you need to experience the bad times (Valleys) and learn to have God by your side, then
in the future you will truly cherish and appreciate what God is doing for you during the good times (Peaks) in your life.

If you never experience the bad times (Valleys) in your life, how will you ever be able to separate the difference between the highs and lows and truly be grateful for the good times (Peaks) in your life.

"When times are good, be joyful; when times are bad, consider this: God made the one as well as the other, so people won't seek anything outside of his best." Ecclesiastes 7:14

Many people (including myself) get
a little lazy or forget a little about God when times are good (Peaks of life). Maybe it is because we get busy and caught up in all the positive good things that are happening in our lives during these Peak, that we forget to acknowledge Him. So during the good times, we should not forgot how we got here and Whom (God) got us through the Valleys to these Peaks.

We rely so much on God during the Valleys when things are not going so great in our lives. For many, this is when we reach out to Him and get the closest
we ever have to God. During these Valleys, for once in our lives, we ask Him genuine questions on life and not “requests or favors”. We desperately depend on Him to help us get through these hard times, these Valleys that we all experience throughout of lives. And it may take time for God to answer and help during these Valleys, but He is always listening and wanting us to turn to him. It is unfortunate that for most it is during these bad times (Valleys) of your life that we truly turn to God and fully acknowledge him. So my question to you is “Shouldn’t you fully acknowledge and pursue God even more when times are good, during the Peaks when you can see all of God’s gifts he is giving you?” The answer is Yes!

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who’ve been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

It just may change your image of God, that he is loving and listening and there for you. It may take time to answer your prayers and not all of them will be answered, because maybe God knows better. So I want you to think back however far back it takes to when you asked God for something to change in your life or improve, etc. Maybe you didn’t realize it, but He really did answer your prayer (albeit, it wasn’t an instant answer). When life is going good, stop and truly appreciate what God is doing for you in your life and give Him the credit. Get to know God during the Peaks, not just the Valleys.

All of the little peaks and valleys of your journey in life make it worth living, especially when you turn to God  give Him thanks and praise during both the highs and lows.

So don’t forget God during the good times in your life, because
God is good, all the time.

- Ross

Stay tuned, next post coming soon!

“The Passing of Time”
How much time is really cherished and deserved? How much do we really appreciate, or waste?  You should not be so afraid to fail, that you don’t truly live.

(A)Wake For Young Souls

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his very soul?
— Mark 8:36

Cycle of the moon brings blood to the woman,
And the blood of the woman brings birth of a child.
Child grow up, he forget himself and
Birth of a child comes someplace wild.
Even grey days beat the shade to wean,
Unbodied, unsouled, unheard, unseen.
Let the gift be grown in the time to call our own;
Let the gift be sewn, for the window's closing.
Truth is natural like the wind that blows;
Follow its direction, no matter where it goes.
So it shall be: the earth, and the sea.
Let the truth blow like a hurricane through me.

Young Souls
Who you were then, may not be who you are now... Over the years you change, acclimate, evolve, and hopefully for the better.  Although maybe you have your gotten lost a few times along life's journey?

Where does the time go...

So, ask yourself, "is who you are now, who you are? Try to remember who you (were), and who you are (now). Which one is it? which one defines who you truly are?

Think, reach deep inside and open up… for your true young soul is always there awaiting to be released, to be cherished, to be freed, to live. Your "young" soul is not an age, number, or range. It can apply to anyone who seeks it out each or every day. And if you do, then you will feel alive.

Your Potential is Unlimited...
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. You can be anything you desire!

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Marianne Williamson

Find your spirit, find your strength, set yourself apart, and become you were destined to be….
Beauty awakens the soul to act. Before it’s too late…

It seems like more people in today's world, take each day for granted. They expect the sun to rise and the sun to set, without even stopping to grasp the true beauty of what is happening around them. Some people take the simple things that happen each and every day for granted. These are the things, if cherished make life more memorable!  So slow down, focus, and truly find your soul, the passion, and give it your best, no matter what the situation. Be unique, don't be dismayed by what others say or think, society will always try and shape you, but you have to follow your own path.

..To Truly Live
The time is Now, not yesterday, not tomorrow, only today can you become everything you want and dream to be. You can be the change, the change you want to see in this world. If only, you apply yourself today to be what/who you want and live the life you desire!

"To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~ Anatole France

Don’t be afraid to act, you cannot sit around waiting for others to do it for you, we must be active, opinionated, and self-fulfilling to stand up for what we believe in. Otherwise you will fall behind and be forgotten.

Free yourself, discover your passion, your love, for example; what inspires yourself? or how can you positively impact others each day? Then and only then will you unlock your unlimited potential that is within you all of you…. Find your spirit, find your strength, set yourself apart, and become you were destined to be…. But YOU, yourself have to do it.

This is not a Wake, but an Awakening
Awaken your soul to act, to live, to believe, to love, to be you...

Then ask yourself on how your currently living your life;  "is who you are now, who you want to be?"
