Time To Fly...

"You'll never know, unless you TRY."

Today isn't like yesterday or the days before, and it will surely not be like tomorrow. Because tomorrow can be something entirely different and unique in it's own way. Why make each day the same, "Yes, today will be different". Today you should take a risk, but not just one, as many as possible.

This approach above shouldn't be just limited to today. It should be practiced your whole life.

"Take Risks, Make Mistakes, Grow in Life."

Now I'm not saying that everyone should go skydiving, bungee jumping, or confront a lion. The risks and chances I am talking about can be any size or type of challenge/problem/opportunity in your daily life.  If it's something is always on your mind, take control, and try to overcome it. From now on, when opportunities, challenges, obstacles, chances for new friends or encounters, or to finally talk to that person who is catching your eye, etc.. are present before you.. TAKE THE ON RISK and don't worry anymore. Because the reward will be great no matter what the outcome is.

"Don't be afraid of mistakes, it's the only way you know when something is "right" in your life"

Sometimes it's hard to take the chance (risk)  because you don't know how it will turn out. But then again, it will never turn out (reward you) if you don't take the chance (risk).

Don't be afraid to dream too big, set bigger goals, reach out to someone, say "hi" to a stranger, make a new friend, overcome a new obstacle.

Take on the Risk, nothing is out of reach, you can achieve and become what others may think is impossible. When you face a challenge or opportunity, only listen to two people. Yourself & God and you can challenge the world in your own way.  You will become and achieve everything you want in life. Don't let others throw you off, YOU make your own decisions, make your own choices, you control your actions, so achieve and become what you want in life.

Take on the Risk, for it is the only chance you'll get the reward. But know this! -- Some risks won't work out and you are guaranteed to make mistakes, it happens, be glad of the growth and experience you now have achieved from the risk, THAT is the Real Reward...

"Trying & Taking Risks is the only way you "grow" in life."

"Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go."

Blue Skies Are Coming...

Let go of the parts of life you honestly don't want... & become the person you want to be.

Cause blue skies are coming... But I know it's hard.

Sometimes life can throw at you unexpected things, it's usually unexpected, out-of-nowhere, not planned for. You cannot plan out every day of your life for rest of your life, for example just try planning out a single day! I've tried and it never goes to plan.. why is that? It's not procrastinating, or easily distracted.. it's just that you aren't supposed to be ready for every single thing that day or life throws at you.. How else would you grow from these unexpected, unplanned events? Think about it, you control what you say and how you act (which are very important), but there is a greater force out there (God) that is in control and has a plan for you. Although you don't know what each day will bring, when something unexpected, unplanned happens in your life, and it may not always be what you wanted or hard to understand why this happening at the moment, but really when it does you should welcome it and learn from it & trust God.

That's what life is..... living each day of your life to the fullest potential of energy you can give it in your own way. You are not guaranteed a set number of days/years on this earth, so why let a day slip by without "giving it your all" or celebrating "life" with friends/loved ones around you, always cherish what you have, but never stop daring yourself to reach out and obtain your dreams, impact others, and mostly LOVE. So when God's plan presents you with a unexpected obstacle or challenge, trust in God, welcome it, face it head on, learn from and overcome it, set new dreams, and reach new goals.

You are all made unique in your own way and God has a different plan for all of you! Some people may look like they have had a "rocky road" so far in his or her life when compared to others, but maybe they haven't been embracing, learning & trusting from the unplanned/unexpected events God is placing before them.

You become and are, how you make yourself react, interact, and impact those around you when unexpected events happen in your life.

From now on, make everyday the most important day.

If you are looking with the correct perspective, you'll see that Life is a series of thousands of tiny miracles.

I don't think that it's the end.. Oh' cause blue are coming..

We're The Kids From Yesterday....& The Change for a Better Tomorrow

"They always say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself." - Andy Warhol

Whether you see it on the TV, Internet, or in your own community; the conflict, violence, crimes, troubled youth, poor economy, neglected appearance of yards/streets, it's all around you.
Now take another look, the possible opportunities & positives that surround you are also abundant. But only looking and seeing the opportunities isn't going help out the future generations that follow. ACTING & DOING are the answers..

“The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems.” - Gandhi

All around you there are people or areas in need, volunteer opportunities in all shapes and sizes available. Anywhere from helping out a neighbor or cleaning up your neighborhood or community outside, to volunteering at your church, school, etc.. you need to find some way to give back!
Trust me, giving back doesn't have to be painful, long hours of boredom you may have once experienced. Just look around and volunteer a skill of yours, (We all have skills and things we enjoy) So use your skills and interests to benefit others around you for once! Maybe you enjoy organizing and creating the church bulletin's for the upcoming Sunday service, maybe you can help clean up & trim trees at a local park, maybe you enjoy teaching kids at a sunday school, you have skills and things you enjoy, I encourage you put them to use every now and then to "give back" instead of just "taking" in your lifetime.

We also must set the example... We are the generation growing up "connected" with facebook, twitter, youtube, and instant messages, social media, etc..

Think About It.. We are the most digitally connected generation in all of history... So let's be remembered for the positives it brings forth.. and not be part of the negatives it could result in. We (myself included) all need to look at our own lives, and see how we bring forth a more positive and brighter future for generations to come. I am not trying to "preach" here, I for one have started to see more and more things everyday that I could be doing differently and am taking action & the steps to be the change I wish to see in my future..

CHANGE YOURSELF -- "You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

YOU ARE IN CONTROL -- What you feel and how you react to something is always up to you. Realize that no-one outside of yourself can actually control how you feel you can start to incorporate this thinking into your daily life and develop it as a thought habit.
FORGIVE & LET GO -- You realize that forgiving and letting go of the past will do you and the people in your world a great service. And spending your time in some negative memory won’t help you after you have learned the lessons you can learn from that experience. By forgiving you release yourself from those bonds. And then you can focus your next opportunity in life.
STAY POSITIVE  -- Stay positive in your actions/talk/thoughts on & offline, Speak positively, live positively (everyone has problems, don't bring others down with your words)
TREAT OTHERS WITH RESPECT -- Treat others with the same respect you would want to be given... (Yes, I know the old fashioned "Golden Rule" but it even relates back to important teachings of Jesus, I think it should be applied Online as our society moves forward)
EAT & LIVE HEALTHY --  Eat & drink healthy and let's be the "images" we want to see in future generations to come. If kids see overweight adults trying to get them to eat healthy and exercise, they will only see hypocrites.

Some other important points to remember:

And lastly,

YOU can be the change that happens in this world, volunteering, being more positive to people, taking action, standing up for what you believe in.. it will not only change the world, but will influence the youth of tomorrow to follow!

“The future depends on what you do today.”  ― Gandhi

Up With The Birds

The birds they sang
The break of day
Start again I hear them say
It's so hard to just walk away

The birds they sang
All a choir
Start again a little higher
It's a spark in a sea of grey

The Birds can't tell a "monday" from a "friday" So why do we let what day it is affect our mood or actions in life?  We sometimes can get caught up in the same old routine each day of the week can bring.

So now is the time to free your mind, your spirit and open your eyes...

Break away from your normal old routine & curve away. Start living each day to make it special in it's own way. Try something new each week, whether it's big or small, it doesn't matter and long it's a change of pace.  You need to actually "Live" to experience what life is all about, don't wait for experience  to start living. Explore the unknowns of your mind, try a new activity, volunteer your time, talk differently to people, eat or try something different at every opportunity you get, sing/dance like never before, offer a helping hand, break away from old habits.  Be Unpredictable, Surprise Yourself, Open your mind to the endless possibilities.

"LIVE to Experience, don't wait for Experience to Live"

You know us "humans" are the only animals on earth that are aware that one day our lives on earth will end.. So why not start living it to the fullest potential?

People, everywhere moving all the time, inside a perfectly straight line..

My Question is.. Don't You Wanna Curve Away?

When everyday can be a perfect in it's own way...

It's not a simple plot,
But I know one day.... Good things are coming our way

Believe In Something...

Image from:

"When I believe in something, I fight like hell for it." ~ Steve McQueen

Every second of every day, your life should all correlate back to one thing, "What you believe in." Now it doesn't have to be just one thing, and everyone is allowed to have different beliefs & opinions. That's what makes us all unique in our own way.

Life cannot be truly lived to the fullest if you do not pursue and stand up for what you believe in. You always need to believe in something and use it to help you seek your true heartfelt purpose in life to really feel "alive". Always know there is something bigger than ourselves that we should strive for.  It's that human trait that we require the "drive/desire" to; seek greater & bolder things, accomplish tasks, fulfill dreams, overcome new obstacles. But it all stems back to the two important things that you should always remember:

1. Believe in something
2. Stand up & Live for what you believe in.

So base your decisions, thoughts, actions on what you believe and drives you. How you go about your daily activities should reflect back on your beliefs. Live your life based on your beliefs, practice those beliefs, stand up for what you believe in & let others know what you "stand for".

Now the door is wide open for you. I'm not going to lecture you into what to believe in. That part of your own journey. But I 'm am going to say; find something(s) to believe in and never let it go. Truly believe with all your heart and stand up to show you believe in it!

I, myself believe in Jesus Christ and the power of spreading Love & Hope.
And that's what I stand up for.

I’d like to hope our history is worth remembering
An imprint of careful design, a feeling of heartfelt purpose,
and a sense of hope….. for something bigger than ourselves.

The Peacemakers

[Jesus said] "Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."   Matthew 5:9

Conflict is so common in our culture today that we barely notice it anymore.  It's in the media, among us, it's all around us. Anger, bitterness, hatred, revenge, negative talk, all of these destroy the relationships with those around us.  As children growing up we all took part in some types of conflict,  but who are we kidding? to continue these ways as adults.

Not only is negative talk and remarks harmful to the person it is directed at, but it also sounds very "primitive"  (my nicest way to put it).   Why sink to that low level of anger and negative views, as we take part in "conflict" or negative conversations it brings yourself down also.  We must slow down our thoughts and actions during these times and realize what is happening, (LifeGoesOn) and there are far better things ahead than anything you leave behind.

Try to watch what you say, are you "building that person up" or "bringing them and yourself down"

Let's build each other up! Especially in today's world of surrounding conflict everywhere we look. Kick the trend, You can be the change in this world, Yes YOU!  It all starts with more positive talking and thinking, which brings a brighter outlook on any situation or conflict that arises!

Don't be easily lured into the easy way out by disagreeing in a situation, open up your mind and heart to see all points of view and extend an open hand.

I encourage you to start today, Be a peacemaker, be the change, you can make the difference. Be the Peacemaker, someone who treasures relationships based on mutual respect that works hard to help people take steps in that direction.

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” - Gandhi

What Inspires You?

I think a person’s heart has a way of turning off, when he can’t find a reason
I guess that’s why nature has always had an inspiring presence
Everything follows a purpose….
But I guess we’re missing something.

Why do we struggle to breathe a more righteous breath?

I’d like to hope our history is worth remembering
An imprint of careful design, a feeling of heartfelt purpose,
and a sense of hope….. for something bigger than ourselves.....
Over the last couple years, I've found more and more inspirations in many different things besides seeing works of God everyday. Some of these inspirations include, music, books, movies, friends, family, and many little things that many people occasionally overlook or just don’t take the time to slow down and dig deeper into things.

Music can have such an impact on one’s mood, why not listen to something that is positive and has an inspiring message! I have found it turns any situation or mood around to the better.
I listen to many inspiring artists/musicians, which makes the day that much more enjoyable. None impact my daily outlook and personality more than Angels & Airwaves. This band is unlike many mainstream musicians of today, because they spread the message to be optimistic and spread Love and Hope with their music and films.  A day rarely goes by when I’m not listening to AvA and become overwhelmed with inspirational thoughts while listening to them.

Besides music, I have many other inspirations, check out my inspirations page to see some of the things that inspire me.

I have found that if you keep your mind open to become inspired, it’s that much easy to get the fire burning inside you! Find your passion and find things that fuel the fire. Find something that overwhelms you with a desire/purpose! Find something that gives you hope, that you can’t help to smile or just want to laugh for no apparent reason when you think of it. Everyone, everyday should wake up with a goal for the future, whether it be job related, hobby, enjoying life,  etc.. anything!  Everyone was created for a purpose, to make  his or her "impact" on somebody or something in their life no matter how big or small! Find your passion and surround yourself with your inspirations and you will be able to achieve anything!

See the thing is, INSPIRATIONS can be found all around us. Trust me it’s there, no matter how big or small, let it inspire you! Open your heart and mind, let it all in, be inspired easily and live for the light!

What inspires you?? I would love to hear some of your inspirations! You can leave a comment anonymously or with your name, you don't need to be a member either!

The Simple Things..

“The aspects of things that are most important for us are hidden because of their simplicity and familiarity. (One is unable to notice something - because it is always before one's eyes.)” - Ludwig Wittgenstein

I have been in the process slowly but surely converting my grandpa’s WW2 journal into electronic form. My past grandparents have had such an influential impact on my life and my grandma still does. There is so much we can learn from their past experiences and the love they have for us. In future posts, I will likely relate back to his journal, as it inspires me every time I work on it.

We sometimes forget with our now busy, electronic, always “digitally connected” daily life, of how simpler times in the past were once enjoyed!! Simple, sometimes when relating to people or things, can mean that "they have all the basic or necessary things they require, but nothing extra." In today’s world of abundant conveniences at our fingertips, we must not lose the simple way of life, which can have such an influential part in our lives.

I love to just sit back and read books, (and yes it’s on a kindle) BUT, that simple act of reading and slowing things down is very enjoyable to me. I believe when you get lost in a story using your own imagination in your mind as you read is such an important quality to use (unlike watching tv), plus I always feel that it's a great way to keep your brain active.

Simpler times of the past can still be obtainable today, the opportunities are all around us.  Such as to just sit down with friends or family and enjoy each other’s company with face to face conversations, take time of each day for some self-meditation to just reflect on things to be thankful for or talk to God. Why is it that everyone loves campfires? I can tell you! The simple act of sitting around a fire can alleviate stress and slow things down to enjoy the "moment".

One thing I constantly doing when I am outside or any situation, is to just take in the “moment” & capture it! I’ll look around and take it all in, pick out little details, notice the little things, deep breath, now I’m living in it!  Your mind can achieve a whole new level of “peace at mind” Go out in the sun or your favorite spot and try it tomorrow!

Try to have more of these “simple times” in your life and you are guaranteed to live a less stressful life, slow down and enjoy the ride! Go out and find things that you can enjoy without it being completely technology based, enjoy nature, take pictures, paint, draw, build something, read a book, etc, the possibilities are endless!  Whatever you do, always take it all in and enjoy it!

Such an easy one to forget...
 "Enjoy the simple things."

Take up your Cross

First official post, I'm gonna dive right into something always on my mind!

It's the 21st Century, everyone seems to be busy, work, home, hobbies, wake up and do it all over again...
How do we stop & slow down to find time to address the important issue Jesus presents us in  Mark 8:35?

"For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it" -Jesus    Mark 8:35

Now looking at this statement, it may be hard to exactly figure out what it exactly means "those who lose their life for my sake and the sake of the gospel, will save it".  But Jesus is telling the crowd (us) that those who desire to follow him and radically redefine yourself and your life  must deny him or herself and take up their "cross". In today's world, we must make every action or decision in a Christ-centered attitude of humility, compassion, self-offering, and obedience to God.
Paul reminds us in Romans 6:11, That to follow Christ means we "consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus."   We are to daily carry our cross to our own crucifixion. Through this daily death of "old self", new life will emerge!"

I for one, have witnessed this in my life. Although it may be little stepping stones at a time of cutting out more and more bad habits, living a more "Christian" life, but since the numerous opportunities that have presented itself have been overwhelming!  A paid research position for graduate school at Kansas State University next fall, an all expenses paid trip down to North Carolina this May by NDSU/Jacobson Turf Equip, People always reaching out to help me and I in return to them.
The possibilities and opportunities are endless when one puts their Faith to work!

I encourage you to take up your "cross" today and you'll see how your life change in more ways than one!
