Take up your Cross

First official post, I'm gonna dive right into something always on my mind!

It's the 21st Century, everyone seems to be busy, work, home, hobbies, wake up and do it all over again...
How do we stop & slow down to find time to address the important issue Jesus presents us in  Mark 8:35?

"For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it" -Jesus    Mark 8:35

Now looking at this statement, it may be hard to exactly figure out what it exactly means "those who lose their life for my sake and the sake of the gospel, will save it".  But Jesus is telling the crowd (us) that those who desire to follow him and radically redefine yourself and your life  must deny him or herself and take up their "cross". In today's world, we must make every action or decision in a Christ-centered attitude of humility, compassion, self-offering, and obedience to God.
Paul reminds us in Romans 6:11, That to follow Christ means we "consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus."   We are to daily carry our cross to our own crucifixion. Through this daily death of "old self", new life will emerge!"

I for one, have witnessed this in my life. Although it may be little stepping stones at a time of cutting out more and more bad habits, living a more "Christian" life, but since the numerous opportunities that have presented itself have been overwhelming!  A paid research position for graduate school at Kansas State University next fall, an all expenses paid trip down to North Carolina this May by NDSU/Jacobson Turf Equip, People always reaching out to help me and I in return to them.
The possibilities and opportunities are endless when one puts their Faith to work!

I encourage you to take up your "cross" today and you'll see how your life change in more ways than one!
