Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

~ Proverbs 3: 5-6

A couple weeks ago I was reminded of the wise old story of Jesus’ calming the storm on the lake in Matthew 8:23-27

Quick summary:

A vicious storm approaches while they are out fishing and Jesus is asleep, the disciples cried out to Jesus “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown? Jesus responds saying to them, “Peace, Be still! you of little faith, why are you so afraid?” He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

This passage got me thinking about life and how sometimes it can seem out of our control. There will be times in your lives that don't go always to plan, times when the "storm" approaching in your life may seem overwhelming, the problem looks too big, the unknown path and which way will it lead.

You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. ~ Steve Jobs

1. Trust/Faith In God

All I have seen teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

One of the first things you can do to start living and overcoming obstacles you may face in life is putting your trust in God. Have faith in the Lord and let him know of not only the problems in your life but the good things & other thoughts on your mind. Start today, laying it all out there for your creator to see where your heart is. You have to "start & act" yourself to get started, but if you are trusting in God at the same time, you will achieve everything you set your mind to! So my message to you is to not only TRUST in God, but also BELIEVE & ACT!

~ "Peace, Be Still" Jesus is always watching over you, trust in him ~

2. Trust Others

Trust men and they will be true to you; treat them greatly and they will show themselves great. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

More than once in each of our life's we've been "wronged" & mistreated. The one thing you have to remember is, "it happens". But don't let things in your past affect your ability to trust others in the future.

Have faith in others as you would have faith in God. The most respect you can show someone is showing them that you can trust and have faith in them. No matter what the situation is, if you show that you can place your trust in them, they will be more inclined of wanting to please you and show that they can really be trusted. Think about the situation you are faced with and then trade places for a moment. Wouldn't you want to be trusted if you were the person? Exactly, so not only place trust in others, but show them that you have faith in them and verbally let them know you are proud of them when they either accomplish or continue to uphold your trust & respect.

~ You will have others be true and trust you in return, but first you, yourself must trust others. ~

3. Trust Yourself

As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live. ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The final thing is you have to trust yourself, have faith in yourself! You have gotten this far being who you are, so keep working at it and always be striving to improve yourself and the others around you.

Everyone talks to themselves, it happens subconsciously throughout the day, so while you are talking to yourself, be sure you are speaking positively to yourself. Give yourself a "pep talk" instead of always weighing on the negatives & "what ifs". Start living life so you don't have to reflect back on the "what ifs" and start making it "what's next".

Live your life not only to inspire other people, but inspire yourself! Try to be constantly improving yourself in one way or another. Some people say be happy with who you are and what you have, well I only half agree with that. Don't just settle for who you are and what you have at the present time.  I believe you should be grateful with who you are and what you have, but then be trying to improve on who you are and what you have. Improve & Try to create a more positive & better quality of life for you & those around you. You can only do this by improving yourself first.

~ Start trusting yourself today & you will know how to live life ~

“Follow your heart, but be quiet for a while first. Ask questions, then feel the answer. Learn to trust your heart.”

If we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy”

so Trust in God, in Others, & in Yourself!

"It is an equal failing to trust everybody, and to trust nobody."
