Stay True To Yourself

I am not teaching you anything. I'm just here to help you to explore yourself.

This is your life. Your unique world, mind, body & spirit. We all have different lifestyles, beliefs, personalities, ambitions, dreams, goals, hobbies, habits, and so much more. And this is what makes the world we live in a beautiful place. Just think, what a dull place this would be if we were all similar in our beliefs and choices! One thing about your life is that it's constantly moving, in which direction? well that's up to you!

There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” - Bruce Lee

So are you moving positively forward in life or staying up on your plateau? Think to yourself at this moment, what are some things you've been putting off, small or big, it doesn't matter. Start today, make a list, and start checking them off your list one-by-one. The best time is now to get started. Don't become stagnant, be active in your life, keep building on your character and never be afraid of the decisions you make.

"Life is not a philosophy, it is not a problem; it is a mystery. You have to live it not according to a certain pattern, not according to a conditioning – what you have been told about it – you have to start afresh, from the very scratch." ~ Osho

Do not be in this world to live up to other's expectations and others are not in this world to live up to yours. Always learn something new each day. One thing to always remember is to always be yourself. And always express yourself, have faith in yourself. Do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate him/her. Be your own "character", your own "life style". Don't fall into the molds of what those around expect of you. Break the mold, break free, be different, be unique, unlock the potential and be the person God created you to be.

"Each human individual should think as if he is the first on the earth; he is the Adam or the Eve. Then you can open, you can open to infinite possibilities; then you will be vulnerable, available. And the more vulnerable you are, the more available you are, the greater the possibility of life happening to you."  ~ Osho

That which is never lost cannot be found, and to search for it is absurd. But the moment this absurdity is understood all seeking stops by itself and that which is never lost is found!

That is why I say: Seek and you will not find, because the very seeking is the barrier. The search itself is the hindrance because it creates the seeker, the ego, the illusion that “I am, and I am not"

Do not seek it outside of you and you will find it: Seek within:  This nothingness is the gate. The Gateless gate. ~Osho

Explore. The first thing you should explore is yourself. Who are you, what makes you unique, different, what makes you, YOU! Do not seek it from others of what you should be, believe, think, or live, act, or behave. The real answers lie within you, seek yourself from the inside out. Everything you want, dream, and strive for is hidden within you, the time is now to explore and unlock the potential. Always be yourself, and stay true to yourself and your own beliefs. God is talking to you, inside you, the question is... have you stopped & waited recently to listen?

Your whole world is available to you, to explore. And in exploring it, you will be surprised. That simultaneously, your inner world is being explored too. Because as you explore the outer world, your inside becomes deeper, your intelligence becomes sharper, your awareness becomes keener.

The effective fulfilled man is one, who has explored both the outer and the inner.

Have Less. Do More. Be More.

You are not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your damn khakis you wear. You're the all-singing, all-dancing, everything that is actually alive of this world.

“The things you own end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything that you're free to do anything.” ― Chuck Palahniuk

"Try to become not a person of success, but try rather to become a person of value."

This post relates back to my "Wanderlust" post & my "Simplify" post. If you haven't realized yet, it's all connected here in The Gatsby Life, in becoming and living a more naturalistic, simplified, inspiring, spiritual journey of which you call your life.

I encourage you to take a look around and make note of your possessions you value most and that you feel you couldn't live without. Now really think about that, could you really not live without them? Could you try eliminating a few of them, free yourself, lessen the hold each has on you and your daily life. Yea, I know your thinking, but some things I need like my car, computer, etc for work. I agree, there are definitely some "earthly possessions" you actually need to live and survive. And I'm not telling you to go and destroy and throw out the others that aren't necessary.

Just take note of which ones they are and try to alleviate some of the stranglehold they have on you, lower the time that each possession or addiction takes up of each day.

Lower your importance of "earthly possessions" & replace it with an importance on "spiritual & enlightened possessions"

“The real measure of your wealth is how much you’d be worth if you lost all your money.”

Of what use is money in the hand of a fool, since he has no desire to get wisdom? If you are going to buy into something, buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding.
I believe someone who possess wisdom, education, knowledge, and continuing to have an open mind to learn and grow everyday is richer than any money value. The ability to keep an open mind, the desire to learn and grow in education/wisdom, try & experience new things, the hunger to grow spiritually, the drive to seek and explore unproven topics and grounds is quite possibly the most important possessions you could own in your lifetime. And these won't end up owning you in the end.

I encourage you, starting today to take note of your "earthly" and "spiritually/wisdom" possessions and see where your true values lie. Try to keep an open mind and start placing more emphasis on the "spiritual/enlightened" possessions, because only the wisdom and spiritual possessions are the ones that will last forever.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. ~ Matthew 6:19-21

Leap of Faith

You know one man alive is homage to the rest…
Make record (an impact) in your journey...

My Leap of Faith

“Most of us live our whole lives…without any real adventure to call our own. What is any life without the pursuit of a dream?”

Well 800 miles, halfway across the country, I'm finally all moved and settled in & The Gatsby Life is ready to continue on this beautiful journey we call life and everything in-between. I hope you continue to follow and hopefully be inspired and continue your inspirational journey to inspire others!

Life is all about that journey that we seek and desire in our lives. We want it to be important, to impact, to inspire not only ourselves but those around us. We want it to have meaning/ a purpose, and a sense of hope... for something bigger than ourselves.
“Don’t fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have.” ~ Louise E. Boone

How can you make your journey be inspiring, purposeful, important and everything in-between? It easier "said" than "done". There is no clear solution or answer, there is no right and wrong, there isn't only one way to do it, but there is only one way to get started. And that is NOW, don't take time for granted. Many put off for tomorrow, simple little tasks, exercising, cleaning, or larger tasks, such as getting out of your shell, stepping out of your "comfort zone", putting yourself out there, taking risks, trying new things, setting new goals. I'm sure many of you have heard of the saying "Stop putting off for tomorrow what you can do today!" We must remind ourselves of this simple saying and ACT NOW instead of LATER.

Remember:

“Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.”

Don't put off what you have time for today, because if you do, you are sure to become overwhelmed tomorrow. I understand, you will not be able to do everything today, some things you will have to set aside but take steps to accomplish and rid yourself of the procrastination that clutters your day to day life.

We got the Light to hold us up...

I just took a "leap of faith" myself.  I'm now living 800 miles away from where I lived the first 24 years of life, out of my comfort zone, new area, new people, new job, new environment, completely new turfgrasses/plants I've never worked with before. I'm not overwhelmed, because I'm ready for whatever life throws at me. But I've realized I can't just sit and expect life to throw what I want at me, I have to go out and pursue what I want in life, not only with a strong desire in my heart, but with an open mind.

“You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.” ~ Max Ehrmann

Things may not seem clear all the time, but that is part of life. It is up to you to achieve what you seek. It will not be handed to you, life is not hand delivered to your door, it must be sought out, it must be dared, challenged, and risks will be overcome. Accept challenges, take risks, and accomplish more than you can even imagine. Life is happening all around you, the time is now step out and into it, seek, explore, dream & discover!

“Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, hate less, love more, and good things will be yours.” - Swedish Proverb
